Trip back to Asheville

We made a quick weekend trip back to Asheville this weekend. The best part? My friend Mina and her family also made a quick weekend trip to Asheville and we got to hang out! We tried to hike Craggy Pinnacle but it was way to cold and windy by the time that we got up there so we went and had hot chocolate instead. While in town we got to see some of our other friends too :-) It was such a great weekend!

Kayaking

Last weekend we tried stand up paddle boarding and this weekend we tried kayaking. A Time for Science was having a free kayaking event for kiddos. I liked it a lot. Alexander liked it at first but then he didn't want to paddle anymore and got stuck out in the lake.

Today we tried our hand at stand up paddle boarding on the Tar River. It was pretty fun.

Weird Al Concert

For Father's Day we gave dad tickets to see Weird Al in Raleigh, NC. It was such a great show. Weird Al even sung to Mom!

First Day of 6th Grade

Today was my first day as a middle schooler AND my first time ever riding the bus to and from school!

11 Years Old

Today is my 11th Birthday!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

We went our for special breakfast at a place called Yoders, hung out at Atlantic Beach for a couple of hours, went shopping for my birthday present (a new bike!). and had cake and presents at home.

Moving Day, Last Day in Asheville

This summer Dad accepted a new job as Dean of Middle School in Greenville, NC. In July we listed our house for sale and now closing day is here. This is our last day in Asheville. We are headed to new adventures in a new town.

Abuelita and Uncle Tony Visit

Abuelita and Uncle Tony came to visit. Uncle stayed the weekend but Abuelita stayed all week!!! We went to ChuckECheese, El Que Pasa, walked downtown, ate ice cream, celebrated Abuelita's birthday, went to the mall, drove up to Craggy Gardens on the Blue Ridge Parkway, made a trip to Publix and the Spanish bakery, and went blueberry picking :-)

Today we hiked out at Wintergreen Falls and hit up Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack for dinner on the way home. :-)

Happy Early Birthday Celebration

Two of my really good friends are leaving Asheville at the end of this month so before we couldn't be together I wanted to have an early birthday party with them at the pool. Sukita will be off on the Appalachian Trial with her dad and Mina and her family are moving to Florida in just four (short) days. :-(

Mom and I went to the WhiteWater Center in Charlotte today. We went rafting, zip lining, and rock wall climbing. It was SO awesome.

5th Grade Graduation

Today I not only graduated from 5th grade but have also graduated from elementary school. Middle School....here I come!

Sun Soo Tournament

Today I was in my first Tae Kwon Do tournament. It was an in house tournament at Sun Soo. I took first place in Sparring for my age and rank!! Here is a picture they snapped of me while doing my board break.

Tarwheels Closing Day

We had a blast though skating there for the last time today.

A few days earlier mom and uncle were walking around this lake and someone stopped to tell them about an alligator in the lake...they did't believe him....but it turned out to be true.

Easter 2016

We got to Abuelita's house for Easter. We dyed some eggs before going to Easter Vigil. Sunday morning we woke up and started hunting for our basket and our eggs. After finding them all we went to church and had a great time at their egg hunt afterward.

Spring Break with Dad

Spring Break started today. Daddy took us down to Atlanta's Georgia Aquarium and then camping at High Falls. We're headed down to FL for the rest of the week.
