Serafina and The Black Cloak Book Event

After my swim meet we went to Barnes and Noble for the book signing event for Serafina and The Black Cloak. The author lives here in Asheville and it's about a girl named Serafina and takes place in the Biltmore Estate in the year 1899. I haven't had a chance to read the book yet (just came out Tuesday and we bought it Wednesday) but the characters from the book trailer where there and I got the meet them. Also since my copy was already an autographed copy we didn't wait in the LONG line to get our copy singed but I saw the author. I can't wait to read the book. It sounds like a good mystery.

First I.M. Asheville Waves

This morning I competed in my first ever I.M. (individual medley) event during our swim meet. It was challenging but I'm going to do it again in our next and final swim meet.

Tonight we went out to Lake Tomahawk to Park Rhythms. We brought our dinner and enjoyed the band Atlas Road Crew

Happy 4th of July

For the Fourth we had some friends over and had a cookout along with some small fireworks and sparklers in the front yard. It was a great time and everyone had fun.

3rd Summer Waterfall Hike

This morning we went on our 3rd Summer Waterfall Hike. First we took the Cat Cap Loop trail for about a mile to a side trail that led down to Cedar Rock Falls. After playing in the water there and eating some lunch we drove a little way up the road to the trailhead to Moore Cove Falls where we got to go behind the waterfall and even walk thru it. Alexander and I made some rock sculptures there too.

First Swim Meet

I had my first swim meet today with the West Asheville Waves. I raced in four events. The first was a relay where I did the backstroke, the second was freestyle, the third was backstroke, and the fourth was a freestyle relay and I had the first run.

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Daddy!!

Day filled with big breakfast, pool playing, hiking Craggy Pinnacle, dinner at Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack, and a quick dessert from Whole Foods.

Testing For Red Belt and Board Breaking

This afternoon I tested for my red belt and broke my first board at Sun Soo using a step behind side kick.

Adventure's With Mamaw

We went to the farm today and Mamaw took us on an adventure to explore Natural Bridge and the Swinging Bridge.

First Day of Summer and First Waterfall Hike

Today is my first official day of summer vacation. Mom and I spent it outside hiking to waterfalls. We did a 9.25 mile hike seeing Triple Falls, High Falls, Dense Lake, Bridal Veil Falls, and back down to Hooker Falls. We had sunshine, clouds, rain, some more clouds, and even a little more sunshine. It was a long hike but we had a wonderful time.

Last Day of 4th Grade

Today was my very last day of 4th grade. I am now officially a rising 5th grader. To celebrate mom took me to dinner at El Que Pasa. We even got dessert.
